Ingredients:
2 sheets puff pastry 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 medium onion, chopped 1 red pepper, chopped 1 green pepper, choped 2 cans of tuna in water or brine 150 g. tomato paste or passata (or a mix of both) 1 egg flour, to dust Steps: Preheat oven to 180ºC. Dust a bit of flour on the pastry to avoid sticking and roll with a rolling pin until each sheet has approximately double its size. Lay one of them on a baking tray previously covered with baking parchment or foil. Reserve the other one. Heat the olive oil in a pan and cook the onion and peppers until soft. Add the tuna, and then the tomato paste, mixing well all the ingredients. Remove from the hob. Add a hard-boiled egg if you like. Spread the tuna paste onto the sheet of pastry on the tray, leaving 2cm. free of mixture at the edges, and then top up with the other sheet. Press together the edges of both sheets, you can roll them up a bit. With any spare pastry you can make decorations for the pie or even make smaller pies. Beat the egg and brush the pie, it will give it a shiny and golden finish once it cooked. With a fork, pinch the pie sparingly and cook in the oven for about 25 minutes. Time may vary, when the pastry is cooked throughout and it looks golden it is ready! |
