For all those tea lovers reading among whom I am... Have you ever thought of making your own tea?
I love tea and like to have many different kinds of tea to choose from so that I can enjoy the right cup at any moment.
I tend to buy it good-quality tea from specialised shops. The tea they sell is better that the tea bags they sell in supermarkets (just think of the smell that involves you as soon as you enter some shops...) and you can sniff-try them before you buy.
Despite the quality, I must say that they are not very pricey. In fact, they are probably even better value for money than in supermarkets. But I usually want to get them all! Obviously I cannot afford to buy so many different kinds of tea at a time and always end up making a difficult choice.
But recently I have realised it is not that difficult to have more than one or two at home. I have started to make my own tea. I can buy some plain tea (whether black, green, red, white, rooibos...) and just add the spices, nuts, cocoa, herbs I like; and in the amounts I like. Then I just need some recycled jars to keep it and have it ready for a relaxing moment :)
In the picture you can see a mix I made with a base of rooibos and some spices such as cloves, cardamom seeds, cinnamon... But there are lots of different options: ginger, cocoa, vanilla, rosemary, aniseeds, almonds...
It may seem than buying all those ingredients separately is more expensive but if you use them often it is actually a good investment. And cheaper in the long-term.
Copy the ingredients from ready-made ones or create your own. Customised to your personal taste and cheaper! Give it a try ;)
